What is the camouflage process?
Skin or scar camouflage is the "medical make-up" of the skin with different skin color pigments. The aim is to camouflage a scar or skin area with pigment loss or lack of color. It is a special permanent make-up application that falls under the category of medical or medical camouflage. It is possible to give the application under names such as Corrective Pigment Camouflage, Skin Re-Pigmentation, Trace Camouflage. Medical makeup requires advanced education, knowledge and experience.
The Effect of Medical Makeup on the Person
Studies have shown that the person's psychological self-confidence increases after the application. In addition, after these applications, the traces are reduced to extremely acceptable levels and their visibility is almost lost.
So how does skin discoloration occur?
It can be caused by trauma from burns or accidents, congenital anomalies or different skin diseases. Medical treatments and surgical operations can correct or improve the appearance of many types of wounds and skin abnormalities. After these treatments, the person sometimes needs this medical camouflage to make the skin color look more whole.
Scarring or discoloration of the skin
When is the Medical Camouflage application for (depigmentation) done?
If you have healed and now have a color that is close to normal or does not change
Your scar should be at least 9 to 12 months old and stable in color. If it is red or pink, the tissue may still be healing.
Dark edges or raised tissue around a scar indicates Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation. It may be possible for Medical Camouflage tattooing to increase hyperpigmentation. This is usually more likely to occur in people with dark skin tones. In such cases, it would be best to postpone the application until after medical or surgical treatment.
Conditions to be considered;
Don't have high expectations! The application of medical skin color camouflage will not completely restore the skin to its previous state! It will help the trace and tone difference you have to look more normal.
The medical skin color will not be in perfect harmony with the skin color around it with the camouflage application. This is due to the constant changes in blood circulation, body temperature, and skin tones caused by tanning. In medical makeup, the pigment will not darken if exposed to sunlight or tanning, so the application may appear lighter if the surrounding skin is tanned. Therefore, you will need to be careful to match your lifestyle with your “winter” or “summer” complexion.
One session will never be enough. Skin color is not a one-time "treatment". It is performed on damaged "unhealthy" skin. Its response is unpredictable – a scar or vitiligo patch can have areas that absorb pigment, reject it, or both! Immediately after a medical make-up application session, the area will appear dark and red, after which it takes up to 4 weeks for the healed color to appear. This takes time and patience.
What You Need to Know
Medical tan camouflage application cannot hide or correct extreme changes in skin texture. If your wound or skin area is bumpy or raised, the procedure may not be effective. If you have any skin irregularities, talk to a "Dermatologist" or "Plastic Surgeon" first to see if any medical treatment can improve skin texture.
Keloid, raised dark-edged scars, Port Wine birthmarks; spider veins; freckles; age spots; under-eye circles; hyper pigmentation; or unstable vitiligo, These can improve with medical treatments such as lasers, sclerotherapy or chemical peels.
